Mr. Roger A. Vroom III, Principal

Welcome to South Plainfield Middle School!

I am thrilled to join the South Plainfield Middle School this year as an instructional leader.  I possess very fond memories of South Plainfield Middle School and look forward to helping create those same experiences for a new generation of students.  The middle school is a formative time in the education of our students.  As such, we expect that they explore all of the academics and activities available.  The diverse offering at the Middle School are geared to enhance the social and emotional growth of our students.  Learning to be a part of a team, both academically and through activities, is an essential part of becoming a life long learner.

Roger A. Vroom III attended South Plainfield Public Schools and graduated in 1999.  He received a Bachelors of Music in Music Education from The College of New Jersey and an Education Masters in Administration and Supervision from the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University.  Mr. Vroom started his teaching career at Saddle Brook High School in 2003 as Band Director for grades 7-12.  In 2005, Mr. Vroom joined the South Plainfield school district when he was hired as Band Director at SPHS.  In 2015, Mr. Vroom was appointed as Assistant Principal at South Plainfield High School.  Over the years Mr. Vroom has gained experience working with the High School staff as a teacher/administrator and the Grant School as an administrator.  Mr. Vroom is thrilled to begin his tenure as principal at South Plainfield Middle School.

In his leisure, Mr. Vroom likes to spend his time with his wife Beth and their three children, Nathan, Benjamin and Leah.
